Queens Park Community Space

The Challenge

The Queens Park Community Space project involved the transformation of outdated changing rooms into two vibrant community buildings, alongside significant external improvements. The challenge was to deliver a comprehensive renovation that would create accessible, modern, and welcoming facilities for local residents, while ensuring the works were completed efficiently and to a high standard.

The Solution

GWL Electrical played a key role in the renovation of both the South and North Blocks. In the South Block, the team installed new windows and doors, wall linings, a kitchen, and an accessible WC, along with all associated electrical and plumbing works. The block also received a new roof finish, filled external openings, and new gutters and downpipes.

For the North Block, GWL Electrical provided new windows and doors, wall linings, an accessible WC, floor finishes, and all associated electrical and plumbing works, including infrastructure for future heating installation. The block was further enhanced with a new external insulated wall system, a full new roof structure and finish, and new gutters and downpipes.

Externally, the project included the formation of a new footpath using a plastic reinforced grass grid and the installation of new bins, improving accessibility and usability of the community space.

The Result

The renovated Queens Park Community Space now offers two fully modernised, accessible community buildings and improved external amenities. The project has created a welcoming environment for a wide range of community activities, supporting local engagement and enhancing the overall appeal of the park.
